I'm getting there, one scrub brush and garbage bag at a time.

ell here we are, half way through another month, and getting closer and closer to my cleaning goal.  I'm wondering if I needed to hire a cleaning crew. (Smile). It's not the high piled cluttered mess it once was. I have achieved greatness when it comes to overcoming that mixed up deal. The last three weeks have been very busy, but it was great to have my husband home for a weeks’ vacation, and to also spend time with family from Michigan. Our trip to Las Vegas, which I hope you read about in my last few blogs, was wonderful and we are now planning a new trip to California this summer. So with all this planning, and blogging, and home repairs being done, it is a wonder that the laundry still gets washed, the dishes are done and put away, and even the beds get made, which usually was never something anyone considered except for myself. My kids and husband are like, why bother mom we are just going to get back into them later. My thinking is that it keeps dust and animal hair off the sheets. They were cool with that, and now make their beds. That was easy. I keep throwing things away that I don't need, and really, never needed in the first place.  My goals for our home are having the bathroom painted and the ceiling molding in before summer is here. My downstairs closet is a wreck - BIG TIME! I'll be sure to get you before and after photos, which is what I planned on working on for my next blog. I liked taking pictures as it holds me accountable for my actions, while at the same time in tracks my progress and gives me a guide if say a room or closet gets messy again, I can review the before and after photos to get me back in gear to clean.

Another project that I would like to get completed is to have my living room painted. I'm thinking a medium to light sage. Something that is calming. As for my bathroom, I have no idea. One day I'll figure that one out. So all in all, things are not as cluttered as we once were. Nothing falls when you walk about it. I LOVE THAT! No piles to see tucked into corners. You can walk into our bedroom without fear what is lurking in the closet or stuffed into our dresser drawers. That is a big accomplishment all on its own.  Now one thing I forgot. With it being spring and we eat outside a lot, I need to take in the considerations of getting the flowerbeds weeded, the patio furniture removed of its green dust from new leaves on the trees, and the yard is mowed, which my older son does. Thank goodness.  I have gotten rid of all my large sized clothes. I have told myself that I don't ever want to be that overweight woman I once was. I am finding with the weight loss and the lack of clutter chaos around, things feel very fung shui, did I spell that right? I'll know in a minute when I hit spell checker.

Tomorrow my plan is to get all my floors washed. On a Tuesday...nothing going on, it could happen. Wish me luck.  So for now, let me get back to my latest project - Finding the men of my husband’s battalion unit from 21 years ago. I like research, and getting into this project, I'll either love research projects or never touch one again.  So for now, here’s wishing you all a great day and happy house cleaning. Blog you later - Gaters, smile. Stacey
